The idea is that everybody should find something to like in Golarion - you can always just focus on a smaller region if you don't want quite as much of a sense of "kitchen sink." There are regions without religion, with guns, with fallen spaceships, and pirate colonies. The setting itself is very wide-ranging, with everything from jungle tribes to enormous cities to Viking tribes to an Asian analog. Thus, if you purchase anything else from Paizo, you'll be buying into their campaign setting. Unlike many "generic" fantasy RPGs, the Pathfinder RPG is intimately tied to its setting, Golarion - not in the sense that the rules force you to play there, but in the sense that the vast majority of official support products are set in that world, with the exception of the hardback books listed above.

This is based on the excellent suggestion of fuzzydice82 in this thread. If you just want a quick summary, skip down to the second of the list comments below. Note that the list is meant to provide a fairly comprehensive overview of the game line for a new gamer. Campaign setting material (summaries only)Įntries will be organized systematically within the sub-groups, and I will rearrange the list as needed when items are added. Supplemental rule books (complete listing, arranged alphabetically) Core rule books (complete listing, arranged by utility)

Please feel free to add anything I may have missed. Ideally each entry should offer a synopsis, who the book is aimed for (player/GM/both), links to reviews, and how essential or useful that product might be. This Geeklist should serve as an inventory and guide for gamers wishing to dip into Pathfinder.
